My real thought is that the learning steps I have are not efficient. So far in Anki all I've done is create a personal Japanese word deck and a personal Japanese sentence deck with both Japanese to English cards and English to Japanese cards. For that reason I am thinking about deleting my stats, manually going through my existing decks, deleting cards which are now learned and too easy and starting all over again. I did research many months ago into how Anki worked and what worked for other people and deduced what I thought were optimal settings for myself, but I'm not so sure they have been optimal. Thirdly I'd appreciate a review of my previous settings and ask if anyone suggests I make changes to these for use in accordance with MIA and Low Key Anki. Do I need to adjust the easy interval etc after downloading the add ons or do I leave them as is? How to I track my retention rate using the stats, what stats should I be looking at ? Keep track of retention rate of subdecks - occaisonaly adjust the interval modifier. If you feel that the reason a card became a leech is that the card is actually more difficult than your other cards, then either delete it (recommended in most cases), or reformat the card in order to reduce the difficulty, reset the interval, remove the "leech" tag, and unsuspend the card.Ĩ.(If you feel that the reason a card became a leech is that you just happened to fully blank on it one time, and didn't have an opportunity to fully relearn it after that, reset the interval (In the browser, "Edit > Reschedule > Place at end of new card queue"), remove the "leech" tag, and unsuspend the card.After finishing your reviews for the day, go into the browser and properly handle any leeches you accrued that day.Create mutile subdecks with homogenous content.I now have this check list of what to do: I understood them but there was a lot to take in.
